Nice looking hawks!
It's always a trade off for me between weight and performance. I tend to go for the lightest tool that will do the job. A heavier hawk does have its place if carrying weight is not a concern.

I like the look of the pipe styled hammer hawk. I had a woods chogan and it was very heavy. The pipe version appears to be lighter

I've got the spiked one. I find it very head heavy and don't really like the balance of it. I started a mod that I haven't finished yet, where I'm going to be cutting off some metal to try to lighten it up and make it a bit more nimble in the hand.

Got my woods chogan probably 8 years ago at this point. Had a nice handle I made for it out of a blank, decorated and stained it a deep red but gave that one to my brother for his hawk when and still haven’t gotten it back. Currently still has the original handle tho I have modified it a bit with a little bit of stain, turned the bottom 1/3rd into an octagon and did some rings around it with a torch for color contrast and added some brass tacks. Probably time to make another one, atleast when I get state side again. Would post of mine on my bunk the Army has me sleeping on for the foreseeable future but it appears I can no longer attach images straight from my phone. Been a wonderful tool for both use in the woods on my own and in the Army, just the other day was using it to squire brish for our terrain model.
