Howsit guys, new to this forum. Id like your input on 2 blades that i cant decide between. Im looking to buy a fixed blade and cant decide between the Crkt triumph neck or the Benchmade Azeria. I love the look and feel of both blades but would like to know which one is going to be the best for edc. I use my blade everyday ( currently using crkt m21 12g folding knife) for all purposes. Cutting open plastic bags, cardboard, string, rope, rubber you name it. I have read so many ppl carrying spyderco, rat, ezee’s and many other brands but to be honest i really dont like the look of any so dont want anything else. Ive carried crkt for 5 years first one being the m16-10z but got lost so bought the m21. Ive recently been introduced to benchmade and the azeria caught my eye off the bat. Im looking for something small, fixed blade thats going to hold its sharpness as long as possible. The fixed blades are easier to keep clean after being around water and dust, blood and meat (weekend braaiing) your input will be greatly appreciated

I would definitely choose Benchmade over CRKT for build quality, fit & finish and quality of materials. And N680 is arguably a better steel than 2cr13 and will hold its edge longer.

The benchmade is a defensive blade. Its really not for everyday cutting tasks. Im sure you could make it work. If you’re looking for other small fixed blade suggestions let me know.

The Benchmade would be a better choice especially if you plan to use it frequently. Bohler N680 is a high corrosion resistant premium grade steel that also has excellent edge retention.
CRKT knives are decent, but the Benchmade most likely won’t disappoint.

To answer your question, Benchmade. Better built better steel. That said, neither would be my first choice for EDC use. I'd look for something with a more conventional blade shape. You mentioned weekend food prep. Think about that Azeria on a cutting board. Only the tip would be doing any work and you'd be bumping you knuckles into everything. The Triumph is a recurve. Depending on your sharpening set-up, could be a PITA. Lots of small fixed blades around. Look at the Bradfords. A real user knife, IMO. For considerably less money, CRKT makes a Mossback bird and trout that might be a nice EDC. Have fun shopping!
