I just saw on ABC's site that CRKT now offers the mirage in a wharncliffe blade and aluminum handles. My only experience with CRKT has been an Apache that I did not like. I have heard that their new knives are far better. Does anyone have any experience with the wharncliffe blade mirage?

For the $ the Zytel-handled is a very good value. The steel is not the best; AUS-6 I think, and it doesn't carry well in the pocket due to the clip design.

But a good value for a utility knife.

I have had the Grey Ghost Mirage,Wharncliffe blade edition for quite a while now, and it is one dandy little blade.Don't be influenced by the Apache,as it is a whole different dog.I have carried it(the Mirage) quite a bit and used it for misc.pocket knife tasks, and it is still smooth, tight, and sharp.A real bargain at the usually discounted selling price.

I've got a Gray Ghost Mirage wharncliffe folder, and would recommend it to anyone. Excellent daily carry piece, AUS-8, aluminum handle, sharp, locks tight and is suitable for a wide variety of cutting tasks. The clip holds tight--no risk of it slipping out of your pocket and disappearing like my former original-style Delica, and since it's metal and beefy I even feel secure hanging it off my belt for open carry from time to time.

It's not a particularly threatening knife, although the subdued gray finish on the blade and aluminum handle slabs imparts a slight "tactical" look to the piece. Whenever I flick mine out to cut something, people are quick to comment on how nice the knife is want to play with it. Never has anyone freaked out or labelled me a psycho for carrying a "deadly weapon." (My boss actually called my small CRKT M16 tanto a "killing knife" once, but never told me to leave it at home...)

All in all, from my experience with these two knives, I can say that I am looking forward to more nifty CRKT offerings in this new year!
