i finally manage to feel one of them and man are they awesome. great feel and blade shape the works anyway i ordered the smaller one to hang my keychain. anyway for those that have the lus is the smaller one really that much harder to handle as some say? also how effective is the blade to corrosion coz i live in a tropical humid urban city, singapore. and for those that have both sizes is the difference in length big or small, also regarding this do both the sizes have the same thickness? coz if they do then ill be buying the bigger one since itll be kinda funny if the small knife is so thick... thanks folks for helping...

hello, called me cpm10v, do u know wat is tat. i guessed u should know as i believe u are knives collector.
i have been working very hard to find distributor in US, so tat we can bring in knives at a slightly cheaper (singapore dollar $10 - $15) than u get from the shop in singapore. but most importantly, usually uhave to wait once a mth for the shippment. i can get it in last then 10 days. if may friends order from us, we can get it in two days. the reason is that the compnay that going to supply me with knives has promised me using DHL at the price of half of UPS. i mean its their businese relation with the shippment company. but any way, we benefit.
but sori my frined, i am from mechanical enginerring who study this feild for more 5 yrs. i have tis habbit is that i wan to educate my freinds who collect knives which deep mehcancial knowledge( as deep as molecular structure) when i sell knife to them. so that we can appricated knives at a more value. the reason very i have to make my life difficutl in teaching this is that i find many many collector have very little knowlegde in knives. wat they know is rockwell sacle tat is the hardness ( let me tell u, in the industry, rockwell hardnness test is not reliable as compared to Brinell and vickers)
, the mateial content , the blade shape. but many dont really know about the stress fatigue , fracture in material, the molecular structure of materials. this factors holds a strong keys in the determination of weather a blade can be chrop and will the material break due to stress fracture ( THIS STRESS FRACTURE IS STILL NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND so many university, industry are working on its especially the aerospace industry). beside teaching this knowleage, we hope to find more collectors and to bring in the knives of your choice together to obtain a cheaper price than u get in the shop in singapore. and of cos, at a quicker way, u dont have to wait for about a month to get your knives. we usually get it in 10days. 2 days is can only be done if may firneds order together. dont worry about the police custom licening, i will do all this dirty job before i give u the product as i dont wan any problem with the police custom. meaning all the knivces will be inspected by the police. sori,i cant bring in auto, double edged , butterfly, thrower. i usually go for MOd, microtech cos the blade is cygron hardened. ( in mechancial term, its is proven to be 200 to 400% better then those wihtout.) but any way. this process is very cheap.
ok...
if u dont intend to order from us, pls pls pls.. dont go away, as i am more will to teach u the mechancial question..
as i like mehcanicla resaearch on metal...

I have the large one with a plain blade. I have carried it every day for the past 5 months, and it has been great. It holds an edge okay, but is easily sharpened. I don't take real good care of it, but it has not failed once. I'm sure some people will say that the lock is weak, or the steel is not as good as Benchmade or Microtech, but for 20-26 dollars, you can't go wrong. If it does eventually give up the ghost, I will not think twice about getting another. As a matter of fact, I have a CRKT Mirage as a backup, but haven't hadf to take it out of the box yet.

It is a nice litte guy for the $$$.., and I've absolutely THRASHED a couple of them before they died! I also got a bunch of them for our maintenance staff.., and they love 'em for everyday drudgery.

CPM10V????? Which part of that had anything to do with the thread???

Have someone host a website for that stuff..., we'd be happy to be educated about blade steel on a molecular level. This wasn't the place to advertsie your expertise, or your hunt for vendors!

our little friend here is angry hahaa..... oh...i just trying to teach... ya... and.. i dont made money as i am not a dealer!! i just wan to find more knives collectors to bring in knives together so we can save on the shippment charge!!

ok ya
take care

Hiya,

The CRKT Urban Shark is a very well made knife. I have owned one for a couple of months and its a joy to use. Nice lockup, sharp edge, comfy handle. I have several other CRKTs but this design and the point guard are my favourites. The only thing I didn't like about the urban shark is the wierd T-shaped thumb studs which tend to catch on things.

Stainless holds up pretty well against rust. As long as you maintain your knives corrosion is not a a problem unless you plan on taking the knife near salt water. Also, sweat is corrosive and its pretty hot year round in these parts so beware. I have several carbon steel knives that i've owned for years - just a light oiling every couple of months keeps them rust-free.

I think its a good solid knife for the money, but I ended up selling mine away. I worked at a camp with kids over the summer and I was playing tag and the damn thing opened up in my pocket, slicing through my pants and into my forearm. no big wound or anything, but it scared me. If that had been one of my kids' heads and not my forearm, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself. I just couldn't trust it after that.

It seems that the oversized thumb studs are the single most factor in customer dis-satisfaction on these neat little knives. Why don't You just file them down to a size & shape that suits You? I would, and probably will when, not if, I buy one.tom.:)

I have the LUS1 which is the smaller version. It really is a solid knife. As far as it opening accidentally, I keep the pivot on mine fairly tight so that there is no wobble at all. The blade is a nice for any kind of medium work, and mine came super sharp.
If you get one, you will enjoy it,
Matt
