crock stick useless on Axe?

Playing with my Trailhawk I wanted to sharpen it and I know you could build some type of a strop because of the convex Edge but I was wondering if I could at least smooth The Edge out a little bit with a ceramic stick or are these completely useless when it comes to an axe? Thanks I have no experience sharpening these things

pretty much just take a coarse stone and put a convex edge on it if it needs it, there's no extreme care needed unless you're carving with it. strops and a sanding block are your best friends if you want a real nice edge
