I want to carry my new Crooked River at work, but I am worried about how sweat proof the wood will be. Does anyone carry one in the heat and humidity? Should I be worried?
Thanks

Try it out and let us know! Benchmade will make it right quickly IF there is a problem. I've carried mine mowing. It was soaked, but only for two hours max. All day, every day, could be another story.

I am a mailman and I walk all day. In the heat and humidity I am soaked all day. I will let you know!

I’m in 100 degree heat daily as well. I’ve had my mini CR clipped on about 80% of the time (paired with others, of course) and have not experienced any problems or noticeable differences. I sweat a LOT, and the humidity here is more often than not close to 100%. I say carry, use, enjoy

ETA: I sweat enough throughout the day that my clothes, including jeans, are completely saturated by the end of my work day. Still zero issues.

If you're unhappy with how the wood holds up, just send it back under their lifetime warranty.

I had a 590 Boost that I used daily at work and the versaflex rubber material began to peel. Sent it back and benchmade replaced it without question.

It was in the upper 80’s today with lower humidity so not quite as bad a day as it has been. This thing is still like new in the box. Benchmade quality for sure. I promise not to post every day unless things change.

So you got the same sent back ?

No. I was wondering how this wood on my new CR will hold up in my sweaty pocket. That is all.
The "wood" is Dymondwood.
Thin plywood veneers impregnated with resin then compressed.
I'd have little concern about warpage with these.
And if it does give me a call, I should have a set of spares as soon as Rogue sends me my new jade scales.

This. Dymondwood is a stabilized “composite” wood, and won’t have any problems with heat (within reason, it will burn), moisture, or warpage. Many hunting knives and gun stocks use the stuff.

I was about to say just this. Don't worry about sweat with Dymondwood, it isn't going to be an issue. I prefer real wood because of aesthetics and I just like real wood, but this stuff is VERY resistant.
