D2 blade with a 3 inch cuttin edge. Stabilized mammoth ivory scales with red liners and a mosiac "decoration". Cross draw kydex belt sheath with tec-loc. Excellent size for every day carry.

Hey Guys...

AA...
Wicked Pressing detail on the sheath...

Just wondering why you put the washers under the screws and not in the back under the tek lok ??

Great looking sheath...

Good question Normark. That is what you call a "screw-up" for the camera. Must have had too many Millers when I put it back together last night. It has now been corrected. :o :o :o

Hey AA....

Ahhh Ok...

Reason I ask is that I've seen that done before,, and thought maybe it was something I was missing.. LOL

That a flat back, or what I call a 2 dimensional sheath Eh!! ??

Your pressing has Great deatil..
you must be using some Real stiff foam like neoprene or something...

The knife isn't half bad either..:)

Sorry man,, I kind of usually look at the sheath more than the knife, occupational hazard...

Good looking package

BTW.. Warncliffs Really do it for me!

beatiful knife....but what caught my eye was the sheath...excellent! Do you take orders for them? ;)

Eric.

If you put the washers on the front you do get a flusher fit at the back and it does allow the screws to counter sink into the washer. However, with the washers on the back it gives the sheath a little more give when sitting or moving. I usually countersink the kydex on the front of the sheath for the screw heads.

Sorry I dont take sheath orders. I only make them for my knives.

Thanks for the comments.

Hey AA..
Yes,, this is true,,with the washers sandwiched in between you get sort of a shock absorber effect, which can save the sheath from damage if it gets caught on something..

A little give is good to have, and also a little space behind the clip is also good to have....

Is the sheath flat on the back side,,or is it molded as well ??
What kind of foam are you using..???

The sheath is flat on the back. I use a medium stiff neoprene that is about 1 1/2 inches thick. I have a pretty high-tech set up consisting of an old toaster oven and a two by four mounted on a gate hinge. :D :D

AA, that is sweet! Good photo, too. For the record, I doon't use Teklocks, but my own G-clips, and I run the washers between the clip and the sheath. Very solid this way, and it brings the clip off the sheath, which is a plus when you don't have a flat side to work with. Your sheath-fu is excellent. I need to resume training! :D

Beautiful knife. Looks very similar to one I drew on paper about 2 years ago. How does it feel in the hand?

Someday when I get the time to start grinding knives, I hope you don't mind if I do one fairly close to it.
