Why is the name of the intention to take this ...
Because I thought to myself ... Tate Collection sword so long. Almost anything knife everything.

So I added a lot to synthesize .
First .
Taiwan's Atayal Hill -type knife , but less commonly used at home and abroad plus [ straight lines. Damascus steel ] .

會出現這把"跨族群融合.山刀"是因為一位台灣收藏刀劍的大老.盧先生.
與他接觸後.在我們腦力激盪後創造出這把 [跨族群融合.山刀].
為何要取這名稱的用意...
因為我心想...大老收藏刀劍那麼久.幾乎什麼刀都有了.
與其複製.不如結取部份精華來製作.而且加入現代及國內外工法去詮釋.
所以我加入了許多來綜合.
首先.
是台灣泰雅山刀刀型.但是加上國內外較少人使用的 [直線紋.大馬士革鋼].
會少用的原因是.製做這種'直線紋'因為方向性的問題.比較容易出現失敗品.
接著是護手.用上中國'老槍頭'常用的六角型銅金屬.然後兩層半圓弧銅襯片.
再來'柄'是比較接近美式風格.這是美國最近流行的一種工法'一體鑲嵌式'做法.
不過我將其分段製作.
加入了'包住刀根'與內框形式改的如中國劍鞘的金具飾樣.[那框的弧形]
但是在青銅上還手工刻了一個 陽雕蛇[母蛇] 來應景今年的"金蛇年"
而且用的是穩定處理過的虎斑楓木染色.增加材料硬度及減少變形.
刀子與柄的所有配件均為"可拆卸式"除了[內框木柄].
尾部螺絲.有如中國大刀的環.揮舞時產生聲響.'還可用於嚇阻敵人'
或輔助拆卸刀子保養.
鞘.
通常台灣山刀都是做半邊箍的.我將它製作成'虎斑楓木'全木對花染色.
尾部加上銅片能抗磨損.與銅釘做緊實裝置.
還有同樣手工刻了一個 立體陽雕蛇[公蛇] 來應景今年的"金蛇年"
'因為有公有母才能生小蛇嘛~'
然後同樣保留了台灣山刀原來綁繩繫腰的功能.
不過我加以修改.因為刀子重背久對腰是種負擔.
我將它加入了多元化.
1.綁繩繫腰的功能.[台灣山刀通常這樣攜帶]
2.如果用皮帶穿過直接卡住'蛇'這也是一種功能.[美國部分通常這樣攜帶]
3.套入皮具.也能單獨直背刀子.[這種攜帶方式就很多刀子都能見到了]
4.皮具鎖上皮帶.就能做到"三點固定"[皮具後有穿皮帶的環].
減少疲勞感產生.[這種攜帶方式通常看到於以前軍刀.]
雖然刀子入鞘.已經做到入鞘置倒刀不掉出了.
不過...我還是設計了一個皮環釦.來釦住握柄.做了雙重保險.
最後..還附上一個手工製鹿角拆刀柄工具.
這就是我為什麼稱它作"跨族群融合.山刀"了.
它結合的不單只是台灣族群.而是世界族群.
在未來也期望我能更完美的結合.更多的族群與刀型.
