I know I've been here for a while, but I have gotten infractions in the past for posting in the wrong forum. So, I have some questions so it doesn't happen again. Specifically, doing reviews of items that fall into more than one forum. For example...

If I want to review the SOG PowerLock, where would it go? It's a review, so would it go into the Reviews & Testing forum? Would it go into the SOG forum because it's a SOG product? Or would it go in the Multitool forum because it's a multitool? Would it go into asll three, simply requiring a copy-and-paste? Or would I put it in the Review forum, but leave a link to it in the SOG and Multitool forums?

Likewise, the Kershaw Camp Axe. Does the review go in the Review forum? Or in the Kershaw forum? Or in the Axe, Tomahawk and Hatchet forum? Or in Wilderness & Survival Skills?

My opinion - you can put any review in the review forum.

If you want to target an audience, you can post the review in the forum that targets the item being reviewed.

What I would do is post your review in the review forum, and then post a thread linking to it in the forums where you think the people would have interest.

If you are doing a real review, with text and pictures of the product in action, I would recommend using the review forum.
If you are showing off a new product you just bought and like, the manufacturer forum is good.

The good news is, any of the appropriate forums would be OK. Just don't put it in more than one, and don't put a heads-up in other forums.

Edit to add: I agree with mqqn, except we don't like a thread linking to it in the forums where you think the people would have interest.
