I've seen several crossed out tang stamps for sale on other sites. Does this mean what I think it does, that the knife did not pass QA inspection? Also, how does this affect the items value?
Probably it didn't pass the QC standard/is a factory second, or was assembled from random parts by a worker and thus not for sale to public, I think schrade did that from time to time, but most likely QC issues
I’ve always considered them a second, and valued them less than an unaltered tang stamp. I’ve seen these more with Schrade than other brands. I’ve owned a few of these that might have a pin crack in handle or some other minor flaw. They still made good users.
