Ran across a Crosslock 180, this is the yellow model with single, serrated sheepsfoot blade. This is NOS and has been sitting in a display for years and years, value? TIA

LOL, I like mine. But I believe the serrated yellow one was the river rafter. Nothing I do, LOL.

I believe they sell for around $30.00 average?? (IIRC) + (IMHO) :D

I found one new old stock in a sporting goods store earlier this year for $39.95 and was happy to find it. The blade code was 1994.... thats really old stock....;o) It's an interesting knife in that I can think of only two Buck knives with a fully serrated blade. The River Rafter is one, and the other one was a fully serrated drop point selector blade for the 428/429 handles for interchangeable blades. Can any one else think of ANY fully serrated Buck blades other than those two? The idea of the River Rafter of course is cutting rope. It came with a short lanyard clip for attaching to your life jacket or gear. Neat knife as a collectable or really practical if you need to cut rope or webbing and has a blunt end so you don't puncture anyone or anything! Not really a camping or general purpose knife, it's a specialty knife for sure in the River Rafter version.

Here's two of my Crosslocks that have a fully serrated blade. I don't have one, but I'm sure that I've seen a 317 with one fully serrated blade.

Neat pair, no other Crosslocks have made it to my stable yet.

Many, Many, Many, years Ago,

My wife and I went to watch our son graduate from Navy boot camp. I had to leave my knife at home and went to the sporting goods store for a carry knife while at the event. I bought a 180 Crosslock and it was my constant companion for the next few years. That knife was the only knife I had with me when I Killed, field dressed, and parted out an 1200LBS Bull. But, thats another story.

The older 180's are tops in my book! They can be found for $10-$30 any day, thats a super value.

This is an old picture, I wish it still looked that good! :D

I carried a Solitaire 180, identical to the 2nd one down in 2TonyB's photo, for close to 12 years. Bought new in 1995 the day before general gun season and finally retired it in the summer of '07. I used it to clean every piece of game I took during that time. In the fall of '05 I picked up a two blade (Deputy?) model off the 'bay for about $10 or so. I still kick myself for not picking up a few of the then close out PRCA marked red inserts from the Cuttlery Shoppe in the late '90s, for I believe, $10 or so new.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the series was designed by Kit Carson, as he makes a very similiar knife.

Forgot to add it's one of my favorite factory knives.

I have one. I think I paid 35$.

I have a two blade deputy model. Like the bottom one in this pic, but without the coating. I used it as a field knife doing stream work for several seasons. The rescue hook is perfect for cutting zip ties underwater by feel.

Anybody know off-hand where to get a tool to tighten/loosen the pivot screw?

we used to take an off the shelf socket and grind it down to fit the pivot screw.

Many of my French surplus rifles have similar screw heads. I've found a set of snap ring pliers works well or you can buy a cheap, flat blade screwdriver of the correct width and use a Dremel to cut out the center leaving the two outer "prongs".

Good ideas! Thanks

I have the crosslock hunter bought in 1995,it has the drop pont plain edge and the gut hook/saw combo blades.I like it,but not my favorite knife by any means. If you use them for dressing game they do clean up nice.

This is the only one I have:

Bought this one as a blem at the first Post Falls Factory Sale in 2005.

Does anyone know where you can get this particular knife? My friend has been looking for one for over 6 months now but can't seem to find one all in black with a serrated edge...

I believe it's a CrossLock 180

BU-2323 Solitaire. Model 180SX. Partially serrated drop point blade.
...Retail $53.95

I have 2 of the very early models--one is a single bladed plain edge---the other has 2 blades--one plain edge--the other a fully serated edge like shown above---they haven't been used since the 90's----bumped out by a Spyderco Endura which was bumped out by a Benchmade 520----the Axis lock is the best out there.
