I just picked up 6 Double Bladed CrossLocks for $16.99 each...! Their story was that this model was going obsolete...what? This has been one of my favorite knives for EDC for a few years now, I was both shocked and disappointed to find out their going away. The Double Bladed CrossLock is/was one of the best "all around" knives ever sold under the Buck name... IMHO.

Has anyone else heard this... is it true, if so, what is Buck going to replace it with?

PRYBRY, greetings, You're right, I just peeked in the 2002 catalog and there are only 2 models left. Joe Houser looks in on us from time to time and he would know the why's.:(

I ordered 6 yesterday from Smokey Mountain Knife Works...
It sounded like they had a bunch more.
I can't figure out why you would discount an obsolete knife that steeply... from $49 to $16 sounds fishy to me...

Just have to wait and see I guess.

I know that we have made a few diferent two bladed Crosslock versions over the years and the only ones left are the 180D3, Hunter in Camo, and the 180YT, Crosslock Yachtsman. I have not heard if they will still be around next year.

Joe,
Is there a difference between the DB Crosslocks with the black handle inserts verses the ones with blue colored inserts.

I know they had a problem where they added material to the blade stop.
Just wondering if this had any bearing on the insert color change.

thanks,
