Does anybody know if there is a tool to take apart the pivot on an older crosslock? Maybe a buck spanner?

I have the model with the blade and seatbelt cutter/prybar, and I'd like to be able to take it apart for cleaning. It has two holes in line at opposite edges of the pin.

Mine looks like this one (not my pic):

My next door neighbor had a bit that fits. He gave me one. It is specially made for screws used by restricted uses so the general public can't unscrew them. He sold his company since, but he use to make high strengh srews for jails, office buildings, military, etc ( and who knows Buck?) I gave him my knife one day years ago and he came back that night with a two prong bit that fit the holes like a glove.....If you could find a supplier of that type of srcew that you could get the bit....He had suggested when I showed him the knife, that if he did not have the right size, you could use O ring pliers to unscrew it. I never tried but they may work as they do have the two little prongs to open the O rings....

Yeah, a lot of times they are called "anti-tamper" screws. I don't know
about a tool for that one. Depending on how tight it is you might be
able to take something like a nylon punch or something and just try
tapping each hole at an angle??
Regards Sonny

thanks, guys. I thought there might be a Buck tool out there that I didn't know about, but it looks like I'll have to try and rig something to work.

I might try and email Buck and see what they say.

In the meantime, I'll try not to do any really dirty jobs with it!
