crosslock question

i have a buck odyssey that i purchased about a month ago. it has become my daily carry knife because it holds a good edge great multi use blade shape and just about the right blade length and the weight to size is just right out of the few knives i have so far

my question is about the lock system though i think its called the crosslock? well the blade has developed a slight up and down play and the locking liner (if looking down on the open knife into the area between the scales) now sits almost all the way up against the right hand side of the steel liner (hope i am not being to confusing)
so my question is is this lock system supposed to flex that far to the right?
it still feels fairly solid and even if it was all the way against the other liner i dont think it would disengage the blade and cause a failure but i just want to be sure its not a problem before i slice a finger heheh

any input greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

Hi Stubellos, It is called a liner lock, not crosslock. My guess is you have some foreign matter stuck between the left liner and the linerlock, you may have to take something thin like a dental pick and clean it out, see if this helps. I can not push my lock far enough to reach the right side (under reasonable force). Hope this helps.

This happened with a knife of mine a while ago. If the blade wiggles at all SEND IT BACK! Buck will replace it, this should not happen to their knifes.

Stu,

I would feel a lot better if you sent that knife in for us to look at. Whatever we did to it would be covered under warrantee. Make sure you send it to my attention so i can see what is going on with it.

Take care,
