I recently bought my first Buck knife: the Crosslock. I saw it in the showcase at my local sporting goods store and knew that I had to have it, so I wound up taking the display model home. Upon examining (playing) with the knife, I noticed a few features that have left me wondering a few things.
1. As the blade of the Crosslock is opened, the back end of the blade smacks the Zytel handle. Most other knives have some sort of metal stopper. Will the Zytel wear out and leave me with a wobbly blade? How tough is Zytel anyway?
2. The serrated blade on my knife wobbled a little when it was new. Can this be fixed?
3. My knife came with no literature. Do I need to register with Buck to activate a warranty or anything of the sort? Is there anything special that I need to know about this knife?
4. Is there a tool that will properly tighten the blades? Will Buck sharpen my serrated blade if I send the knife for this purpose?
I am planning to put this knife to work, so I am hoping for as much information as possible so I can take care of this knife. I appreciate any comments about the Crosslock.
