Can anyone recommend a suitable commercially available oil for this pump gun. Can not find Pelgun oil in my area. Concerned that oil does not ruin seals.

Also any ideas on modifying the trigger for a lighter release, or any interesting views on this gun.

I find it very accurate and with the price of ammunition, have been sharpening up my shooting skill on the cheap.

look for pure silicone oil. anything with petroleum distillates can dissolve the rubber seals.

The airgun forum Dave linked to is excelent, but general, and perhaps slanted a bit toward the higher end. I strongly suggest addressing questions to these guys, many of whom I know well. Crosman Airgun Forum
I haven't posted in a few months, but they probably still remember me, tell em Joben sent you. :p

Also for lubing a pumper you probably can't do better than Mac-1 "Secret Sauce". I think it's about $2.50

Give 'em a call.

Though the non-detergent 30 weight will do fine and is widely used in the airgun community. :)

It's a fun air pistol. I have one too.

There's a carbine stock available for it, although the length of pull seems a little long.

There's all sorts of aftermarket trigger stuff for it.

The rear sight can be removed and flipped over if you prefer a peep sight to the notch. Of course, you'll have to sight it in again. The hole isn't really big enough to use when holding the pistol at arms length, but you can hold the pistol as close to your face as you wish since there's almost no recoil.

You can buy pelgun oil directly from Crosman if you wish. That little tube should last a long time.

I found that there is not enough adjustability in the rear sight for me, but it groups very well. I decided to order the scope mounts the other day and I'm going to put a 2.5x20 on it. Hopefully that will work:)

I have one with the "gold plated trigger" from around 1983. The seals went on it around 10 years ago. It's pinned construction or I'd have taken it apart by now. Anybody know if I can have it repaired? As for oil, I always used 3 in 1. I can't say that contributed to the seals going because I bet I've shot thousands of BB's and .177 pellets through it over the years.
