Crow and Raven?!

These two Byrds are made of 8Cr13MoV steel. ASAIK its the chinese equivalent to Aus-8 steel and it consists of 0.8% carbon, 13% chrome, less than 1% molybdenium with vanadium.

I've had the pleasure of holding a Crow. They're very visually attractive knives at their price point. They feel pretty good in the hand. The lockup was solid, the fit and finish (at a glance) was good.

Great deal, if you don't mind buying from China.

Sal, if you're out there I would really like to see some pics of the crow in hand...

If anyone has one of these I would sure appreciate some pics!;)

I gave out 5 crows at Christmas, I wish I bought more. If I had one, I would carry it when I was going somewhere that it could be confiscated. They are an amazing value.

I'm out here, but someone else is going to have to show pics.

FWIW, they were designed to fit the hand, not the eye.

8Cr13MoV is the European "style" of naming steel. Acually it makes more sense when you think about it. .8 carbon, 13 Chrome with Moly and Vanadium added.

What does 440C (16-18 Cr), ATS-34 (4.0 Moly), or D2 (1.6 Carbon) say about the elements or amounts?

I gave a review on the Crow a while back. (sorry no pics) Maybe you can did it up. This is a solid knife with great lock up and the steel is pretty damn good also. I would suggest the Raven because the choil takes up a good bit of cutting edge as with all Spyderco influenced knives. I will one day pick up a Raven. The Crow is a bit on the heavy side, for me, so I would like to handle the Raven first.
