Fairly close pics of the actual knives Jim Crowell and John Fitch used to place 1st and 2nd in the ABS cutting contest at the Blade show. Both blades are forged 1084.

Dan, again you reminded me of the comp. DID YOU SEE THEIR BELT BUCKLES???????????!!!!!!!!!! I have a collaboration bowie coming from them; IT'S BIG!!!!!!!! a few months away....THEY both are great people and make KILLER knives. They are my FRIENDS; I'm a little biased.

I also have to pitch in here at this time and say Mike Wiliams did a wonderful job of putting together some of this and as always comes up with devious things to be cut. For some reason I keep getting the credit when Mike is the one being onery with a lot of these events. Mike and I both took a day and just played with different things to cut and we enjoyed sharing it with the Contestants. I am not so sure they enjoyed it for a bit till it was over. They all were locked up as we have seen them cut better. All in all it was fun watching good friends compete they are good friends when it is over.

Danbo, did you get a picture of Kevin Cashen's cutting contest knife? That thing was awesome.

Unfortunately, I didn't. :( I never did see it sitting around on a table idle. It was either in his hand being used, or stashed away somewhere.

Holy smokes - they've got mpeg movies of the cutting competition on that thread - how cool is that?! Have a look while they're still up.

Cheers,

Roger

Yes...they won't be up forever. I gotta keep a lid on my bandwidth.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I really like Kevin's bowie, and I also like the fact that it's damascus. Quite a strong statement on his part.
