For those folks who have never seen this awesome piece, here are a few pics.

Alas, don't ask me for comparison pics of it with other blades. I was made an offer I could not refuse and it is no longer mine to admire. Enjoy these my friends. I will take them down by the new year to free up some photo space.

That's a great knife and it's even greater to hear that it's home again. :D  Thanks for posting the pics.

I have been in constant correspondance with Progunner for the last couple of weeks. I never expected to receive my boloheart in the mail yesterday.

I cried, which doesn't often happen.

To whomever is responsible for my receiving this knife back, I thank you from the depths of my heart and soul. I never wanted to sell it, but hard times come to us all (my wife and I still really aren't out of them, but we make it work). Progunner offered to sell it back to me and I knew I could not afford to pay him what it was worth. I was just glad to know it was in good hands.
This was a very special knife to me as it accompanied me to Jordan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia during my first WESTPAC deployment back in 2001. I was with the Maritime Special Operations Force (MSPF) for the 15th MEU(SOC) and, though we never had go to combat, we did quite a bit of training over that 6 months. The knife was a constant reminder of my father and wife (who both chipped in to buy it for me!). Those who have deployed in the military know what little "reminders" mean to those overseas...

Again, I thank those forumites responsible for this.
I never thought I would own this knife again.
It is truly a gift I will never forget.

My wife also thanks you as after I brought this knife up a couple of weeks ago and she lectured me on how I sold off the only "heirloom knife" I had ever owned (it travelled with me overseas and then cut our wedding cake).

If there is ever anything I can do for any of those folks responsible, please let me know.

Thanks again!

Proud new (and old ;) ) owner of the Boloheart Variant SH-E

BTW, I can't stop holding this knife. My wife told me I'd have to put it away though because she refuses to sleep with both me and it... ;) :D

Jess,

I am glad I could play a small part in getting your knife back to you. You deserve it and it really does belong with you. I am not going to lie to you, I am going to miss that thing something fierce, but I am sure I will get over it and fill it's spot in the safe with something else. Perhaps a nice custom shop blade. :) I wish you and your wife great prosperity in the future.

John

I can't tell you how confused I was when I received a notice in the mail that I had to sign for a package at the PO. I show up and the post master who knows me pretty well (I ebay quite a bit) asks me what's inside. I had no idea and I didn't recognize the name (didn't know progunner's last name). Then, when I was in the car on the way home from the PO, it dawned on me what it might be and I about lost it...as soon as I pulled in at home, I openned it up and cried...couldn't help it. Probably the best single gift I've ever received...

I wished I could have been there to see your face. Heck, I even entertained delivering it in person. If you had lived on my side of Iowa, like Davenport or Bettendorf, I would have made the 3+ hour drive this coming weekend, just so I could see your face.

I was born and raised in Crystal Lake Iowa near Dewit, which is about 40 min from Davenport. Folks moved to my mom's home town when I was 6 y.o.

I'd love to get together w/ you sometime I'm in eastern Iowa/western Ill sometime Progunner. It'd be a pleasure to meet you. I just might have to make the trip to YOUR house to see your collection of Busse knives! ;)

You're on. You are more than welcome to come see my modest collection some time. If you are ever over near Springfield, let me know.

Cerberus,
I don't rock, the folks who really made this happen do. :)

Hey, you guys ROCK!

Congrats to Crowinghorse!

Thanks for sharing the pics and the story  :D

Now I know why this forum is so awesome. Aesome blades, awesome people. I am very happy for you Crowinghorse!

Thanks again to everyone that made this happen and this board in general.

Dr. Thor,
You aren't kidding when you say the folks on this board (and forum) rock!
When I was in Iraq, the first two weeks we had no email connection with the outside world, but this forum was open and Andy Prisco and some of the guys over there on the ATC board forwarded my messages from me in Iraq to my wife and folks in the states.

This board and forum do have some very very very caring and generous people.

God bless all and have a happy thanksgiving!
I know what I'll be cutting the turkey with this year! ;)
