Spyderco is coming out with several different knives in Cru-wear soon. Can someone who knows about Cru-wear tell me about it.

What steel is Cru-wear similar to ? Does it have good edge retention, easy to sharpen, and everything else we look for in a good steel.

Edit: The Millie is the only knife Spyderco had coming out in cru-wear.

The endura, delica and stretch are coming out in super blue. My bad. According to the info GPK & NG have on their websites.

According to Crucible charts, its toughness will be greater than D2, and its edge retention will be close to S30V. From people who have used it, it seems to be better then charts indicate. "Mastiff" Joe is his real name I believe has some experience with it and really likes it.

I should have done a google search before I posted this thread. The Spyderco.com general discussion forum has a good thread on cruwear on page 1 now.

Cru-Wear and Vasco-Wear are the same steel.
They will retain an aggresive cutting edge in a very impressive fashion. Easy to grind-hand finish
or sharpen...NOT.

What other knives are you referring to besides the Military sprint?

The Milllie is the only knife coming out with Cru-wear.

The Endura, Delica, and the Stretch are coming out in super blue.

I edited my thread with this info.
