"The new owners plan to close on the sale on Oct. 16, and to restart the plant in either the first or second week of November, Knowles said.

Knowles said the he expects a “substantial” number of former workers to be hired by the new company. The Steelworkers and new owners today are discussing how many workers the plant will need, and when they will be hired back, he said."

"The new owners plan to focus on making the hard steel that is used to make tools"

That sounds like good news for us!

They plan on continuing to make tool steels but have not announced their plans on distribution. Currently All my steel comes from the service center in Dallas which was not picked up and is where most of the sized stock we used is stored. There was mention of the automotive industry in the article. Hopefully there will be consideration for the smaller steel consumers. It stands to reason that there should be providing the costs of distributing to smaller consumers does not impede their profit margin.

Very true. I'm assuming that some of our distributors will find ways to get the steel if it's still made.
