I have been looking for information on Buck knives modified by Crumrine Gold & Silversmiths but haven't found very much. From what I have seen, Crumrine will replace the handles on Buck folding knives with Sterling silver scales.
Is this a factory collaboration, a Crumrine-only after the fact modification or???
I have a 525 from 1994 and was curious.

I've personally never heard of that name. I have seen four sterling handled 525's and own the sterling silver and gold 525 with gold oak leaves. Here's the catalog page from '97 when they were introduced by Buck. Is yours similar? The catlog doesn't mention a collaboration.
Some good pictures could possibly help pin yours down.

Ooops, I see that you had a link that I missed. Hmmm, I've not seen that before. Beautiful little guy.

I have seen knives from Montana Silversmiths and New England Sterling. There were also sterling 525's offered thru Tiffanys and Cabela's.
