First thread here on the forum. I have spent many hours surfing around trying to soak up all of the many years of knowledge here. I will try to keep this long thread short. I just recently REALLY got into over-built folding knives. I have always been in and around and am fairly familiar with military fixed but have since left that field having parted with most of my collection years ago; I only kept a Patton sword cut down and a theatre.
How it all began: It was a rainy day and I was with a co-worker / friend of mine in a parking garage shooting the $hit and he pulled out a Medford Knife and Tool Marauder; I was hooked immediately. I tend to go full on from the get-go when inspired and I soon realized this was going to be dangerous; Ill list my inventory later. Immediately when holding the Marauder I noticed the standard of quality was beyond normal. Here we are now a few months later and a couple thousand dollar$ lighter.
Onto my newest acquisition; Its 230am last Saturday and Im on my phone in bed surfing knife related things and find an IN STOCK item on the Crusader Forge site and the price is do-able, well "do-able" after borrowing some funds from the old lady. I actually had to wake her up to get her PayPal password
. Well it arrived today after a little drama from the USPS which Ill spare you all from. Instant favorite / grail / f'in amazing!!!
First Ill post pics from the web site which hooked me, not only because of the Crusader Forge insaneness but it really looked different from their norm, a bit out there.

Photos after arrival. The ONE OF ONE demanded my respect / appreciation. I originally thought CF was doing a small run of these gems as when I had originally saw the listing it had been on the site for approximately 48 hours, I couldn't believe it. Maybe I'm the only LOON who is captivated by this gem. It also was not taken down for a couple of days after I paid so seeing the COA surprised me a bit, pleasantly.
Typically CF does not utilize CPM3V, from what I have seen, although being a tougher steel seems to make sense in my mind with this ridiculous KIRIDASHI grind.

In this side-by-side:
Medford Knife and Tool TFF1
Microtech Ultratech
Medford Knife and Tool TFF4

Its hard to tell in the photo below, with the TFF4, but the lower standoff for the KIRIDASHI has to be ½, biggest Ive seen on any of my knives.

When held tightly and my thumb is across the jimping, dare I call it that, it just feels so right and begs to be used hard.

I truly hope there is another CF fanatic out there that will appreciate these photos of this one off.
Currently I own and use:
Medford Knife and Tool TFF1 (Tumbled Ti S35VN)
Medford Knife and Tool TFF4 (Tumbled Ti D2)
Medford Knife and Tool 187 Flipper (Black G-10 D2 Vulcan)
Medford Knife and Tool Arktika (Tumbled Ti D2)
Crusader Forge KIRIDASHI!!!!!!
Crusader Forge Street Fighter (3D S30V)
Crusader Forge TAD Metro Green G-10 (on the way)
Microtech Ultratech Tri-Grip Drop point tumbled
Microtech UTX-70 Two Tone Full Serrated
Kershaw 1620
Ive been very busy collecting these gems over the past few months and am starting to level out, both reaching my financial limit for the time being and the realization that there are only 7 days in a week; how many knives do I REALLY NEED. I can say that I am really happy with what I have and can really appreciate the work, not only the work it took me to purchase these but the work into making them. I look forward to many years ahead utilizing these tools.
On my radar and wish list:
Tuffknives Tanics / Switches are simple beautiful!, Trouble Blades Debt Collector, Medford Knife and Tool FUK Flipper, any Crusader Forges. Fatty Slashs are super sexy. I just have a weak spot for the hefty frame-lock folders.
