Hi
This is not a review, just a quick writeup on my impression of this ridiciously overbuilt, house-destroying piece of cutlery. Crusader Forge or CF is a custom knife company who makes one of the most overbuilt knives on the market.
They are designed and made by a guy named, Maciej Szczerbiak.
I just got a TCFM03 (Too Close For Missiles) knife which I believe is one the more popular model of his fixed blades. These knives are incredibly expensive(as expected from a custom knife maker), but I got this one for a
decent price on the used market. I would classify the as a hard-use utility knife designed to withstand the most grueling punishment.
My first impression was the knife's jawdropping weight and heft. This knife is basically a 6.5mm thick slab of S30V with some G-10 slabs. The screws are overbuilt, the tip, allthough it is a drop point, is so thick that even normal tanto tips can't match up. But believe it or not, it's pretty sharp and cuts exceptionally good for such a thick knife. The reason is the CF's use of a broad and large edgeprofile which makes this sharpened prybar that can cut.
It is also a hollowground blade.
The handle is comfortable and has a cutout on the front like Extrema Ratio does. This makes the handle very comfy, albeit the handle is large and bulky. It has sculpted G-10 scales.
So how's the quality, fit and finish? It is beyond excellent. The handleslabs are so flushed with the tang that it looks and feels like they are a part of the tang. Absolutely no sharp or portruding corners. This takes some serious patience and talent to do. The grind is excellent and the good-looking 3D-finish in KG Gunkote looks really cool. The sheath has excellent retention and no flaws whatsoever. The only bad thing to say about this knife is the weight(depends on the user, I like the weight) and the price. I would recommend this knife to people who has a real love and fetish for overbuilt, tactical blades, for those who want an indestructible blade that performs very good and for those who has some money to spend(I'm not one of them, I'm just plain stupid, but have always wanted a CF since 2008). I'm gonna use this knife, none of my more expensive knives are safe queens
