Cruwear, 4V, 3V, or PD-1

We actually do not know that, because Sal does not reveal all. But I am with you. Those are most of my favorite steels (add M4 and S90V). My most carried are my Cruwear Mili and PM2.

Why are there no folding models in Cruwear, 4V, 3V, or PD-1 in the works? I would love to see those in any of the Golden-made folders. I would think they would be extremely popular?

I believe BRK mentioning the cost of CPM3V being a factor. Not sure if Sal has ever weighed in. It’s probably overkill for a lot of FFG knives with distal taper, for those blades geometry might be more important than steel toughness. It would probably be appreciated on something like a Millie... where a bent tip instead of a broken one would matter quite a bit.

I think those steel would be popular in sprint runs. In general, stainless steels seem to be more popular. Eric said they switched from M4 to S30V in the Mantra 3 in response to customer feedback.

CPM 3V would rock. If you could choose, would handle combo would you pick? ScooterG ScooterG

Please please please @Sal Glesser

I am not very original. I think ide like carbon fiber like the 52-100 sprint or the CF/Ti from the KW s90V sprint.

I would love to see the blade stonewashed like the Slyz Bowie

I’d go full Ti all the way! Wouldn’t turn my nose up at some navy blue G10 though. The CF/Ti would make a great KnifeWorks special.

I like peel-ply CF or G10, but really do not like Ti or any other metal handles. So, YES to 3V mili (great choice for a Mili), but not RIL or Ti.

Peel Ply CF or G10 (Red, Blurple or Jade...I know they are already used in other runs...but I like em!). Military, PM2, Para 3, Manix, and Native please!

Cisco Model DPC3939

+1 on the stonewash, I would also definitely swap it into a KW CF/Ti framelock

I would like more Spyderco's in CPM 3V. I've given up on ever getting a Tuff on the secondary market.

I would love a Para3 in CPM 3V. Maybe they could just do a sprint run for most of their most popular models at the same time in 3V.

I am torn. 3V is my favorite and most used steel in fixed blades; however, I find I rarely carry my folders in tool and carbon steels because they rust so easily. I wipe them down with oil regularly, but I sweat so much I still get rust. My concern isn't visible portion of the blade but rather the pivot area. Because of this I carry my stainless blades much more. Coated blades help to remedy this, and I could see myself buying a coated 3V PM2, even though I feel some of the benefits of 3V are lost in smaller blades.

Well a PD-1 Mule just came out so I think it's fairly reasonable to assume there will be a production something in it eventually.

Aren't PD-1, Cruwear, Z Wear and Vascowear all basically the same steel?

dude, yeah, a DLC 3V PM2, Millie, Para 3, Manix, Native sprint run in some sweet G10 color would be insane. Maybe a translucent dark green. Kind of like the blurple, but dark green, and semi-transluscent.

3V and CruWear each look like distinct recipes from PD1/Vascowear. All are similar.

Anyone interested in priming us on the practicalities of the Vanadium/Tungsten tradeoff (or does the 0.3%C make as much of a difference here?)?

I'm a fan of all the selections. The Spyderco Sanders/Ankerson will be 4V, so it is a great opportunity to try it out in an awesome and proven design.
