Cruwear help!

Has anyone successfully been able to patina their Cruwear sprints? I have tried everything except vinegar with no luck. Having slot of trouble with rust though. Any help would be awesome thanks guys.

Cruwear (same as VascoWear) is 7.5% chrome......will not color as easily
as steels like 1084/1095/W1/W2...etc.

yep, but by accident. coated it in frog lube after prepping it properly to protect it. left it sitting in the box. never used it had sitting from release date until few months ago. frog lube was brownish in the thicker lube areas, wiped it off and i had patina lines from the thicker lube on it. thinner lube didn't. so needless to say didn't work well or at all for corrosion, but i don't care and the knife works fine. ironically i have a mule cruwear that had been sitting right next to it in my ac'ed closet with no protection at all, bare metal and it's clean as day no rust or anything or patina. go figure.

Frog lube tends to degrade & get sticky too. Think I'm gonna stop using it.
