Has anyone been able to get a successful patina on Cruwear? Nothing really seems to work but I’m open to suggestion

Cruwear is semi-stainless, so it is hit or miss what may work....

Try vinegar or mustard. If that doesn't work, try some ferric chloride.

I haven't been able to get any sort of staining on mine and I've been carrying it on and off for the last year and consistently for the past 3 months. Pleasantly surprised with how stainless it is.

well I live in the coastal swamps so it needs some kind of protection but what I did was keep it in a boiler with rayon wrapped around it because it will soak up and dry out super fast and just let it repeat over and over and it ended up oxidizing I used white vinegar but it doesn’t take a whole lot of color it more like polished itself
It seems it oxidizes more than anyone realizes it’s just not going to take color like a traditional tool steel it simply changes shades of grey

Try some strong mustard.

That being said, I have yet to stain/patina my Crew of CRUWEAR...I would say their corrosion resistance is close to 3V...from real world usage.
