I love all my Spyderco’s… but the one I carry and use the most is my Manix 2 in Cruwear and Smooth G10. It just checks all the right boxes for me: great steel, great blade shape, smooth G10 that’s easy on the pockets, strong locking mechanism, and it’s a slicing machine! Just wanted to say thanks to Sal and Eric for making this wonderful knife! Keep up the great work my brothers!

Sounds perfect. Bought my wife a Manix 2 LW in SPY27 and it's one of the best knives in the house. I do love smooth G10. Sounds like a serious contender for next knife!

That’s a great one right there…great combo of steel and the smooth handle.:thumbsup:

Dang, I never saw that one before. That is just about perfect. I love me some smooth g10

How's the grip on it? Is it slippery or do you still get good traction?
In comparison to Spyderco’s normal finish on G10, it’s slippery. Compared to some of the fixed blades with smooth G10, it feels/grips the same. For me, it doesn’t get dirty like Spyderco’s normal finish. If more knives were offered in smooth G10, I’d choose it over other finishes.

It’s smooth, but once it’s opened it’s not going anywhere due to the ergo’s and generous jimping… the smooth G10 makes it so much easier going in and out of the pocket compared to the typical G10… it’s a winner for me!

I got a Manix 2 a couple years ago, but I returned it because the lock was so stiff that I had to use a house key to move the slider to close it. One of my friends who is into knives was able to close it with his bare hands, but it took him about 10 minutes.

Is the Manix is the only model that has that kind of lock? If so, that suggests that Spyderco has problems with the lock.

I own 3 Manixes. None have that issue. Sounds like you got a lemon and should have had it serviced under warranty or sent it back to the dealer where it was purchased.

If I can find videos on YouTube of 13 year old girls operating the lock on the Manix 2 without issue, what should I conclude about your statements?

Hey Shepherd,

Sorry for your bad experience. Did you ever replace it?

Considering that we're shipping tens of thousands of pieces monthly, I think our track record is pretty good. I'm sorry you didn't take the opportunity to dig deeper.
