I have a question, but didnt want to hijack the other thread. Im just playing at this point, like I needed another hobby, BUT it keeps me out of the bar.

What advantage(if any) would there be for using a cryo treatment on 1095? I would be looking at using LN2, as I work in the welding sup. industry, and have ready access to it.

There is no real advantage to using cryo on simple carbon steels as they don't tend to have much retained austinite.

Yup,

The general consensus is if you notice improvement to the 10XX steels with cryo, something is bad wrong with your HT. 10xx steel shouldn't retain significant austenite.

Thanks Guys, was just curious, but didnt want to waste my time, if it was a bad idea.
