Just noticed this video in another thread. http://www.coldsteel.com/blackrockhunter.html

If you notice around 1:47 he talks about the "super strong springs" and how this can cause the edge to hit the liners, dulling the edge.

Anyone have this knife and can verify that this does indeed happen? It seems to me that this would be a very big design oversight if it does.

Disclaimer: No, I'm not bashing CS, nor is it my intention to start a thread that does so.

I have one and have yet to experience blade-to-spring contact.

I suppose such contact could happen as such an occurance can happen with common slip-joints.

The fastest way I have found to open it is hold onto the grip opposite the lanyard and then use the lanyard in a circular movement to swing it open. Full control of movement.

You're saying that you can open the Black Rock Hunter one-handed? :D

Hold the non-lanyard handle with your dominant hand. Use your opposing hand to grasp the lanyard and open the knife in a smooth arcuate motion.

I, too, have found that this is the best way to open the knife. :)
