Hey, everybody.

I just bought a Cold Steel Brave Heart, and was wondering a couple things.
First of all, I don't normally buy Cold Steel knives, or things of that ilk. I generally stick with higher-quality tools (most of my fixed blades are Bark River or old carbon steel blades), but I liked it and it was cheap.

So, while I'm waiting for it to arrive, I thought I'd ask:
1. Anybody have one? How do you like it?
2. Anybody know how far the tang extends into the handle?
3. Does anyone have a review already written up?

Thanks!

I have one and think it is a great idea and a relatively well made knife.

A modern rendition of a sgain dubh is something that (oddly) no one else produces.

I would love to see it with better handle material, although the rubber handle does provide an excellent grip.

Oh, and FWIW, it feels like a full length tang in the handle.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the sheath is WAAAAAY tight.

The sheath is extremely tight fitting. I carry it often in my boot. Another CS blade that I got around the same time is the "Spike" tanto point. This is a much better defense knife and is far easier to deploy.

Back to the CS BH, the tip is quite sturdy and I have punctured many a beer can with it with out any issues. This blade is almost purely designed for stabbing flesh, although I have done my fair share of steak cutting with it as well.

It is only 40 bucks or so, and I would reccomend it to others for a defense blade, last ditch, and nothing more.
