i haven't seen anything on here about it. Anyone have one? Opinions:thumbup: :thumbdn:?

I don't own one. It's tough; took quite a beating on the knifetests video (now taken down). It has a round handle, which may or may not displease you. The round handle allows you to easily fashion a spear shaft out of a stick. Most people wrap the bare metal handle for better grip. It is SK-5, which is a well regarded carbon steel. Blade is 2.5mm thick, which is a little on the thin side for batoning, as in, it will not force wood apart as well as a 1/4" (6.3mm) thick blade. You can find tons of video reviews on youtube, most of which seem to be positive. Overall, it is a good knife. However, for a 7" long blade, I'd prefer it to be thicker.

Had one for years in the trunk of the car- next to the jumper cables. It's a tough beater. Zero finesse- just ugly utility. And pretty sharp.

I shortened the blade on one for a fellow, and was impressed with it, overall. It's a lot of knife for the money. As I recall, the sheath was pretty sturdy, too.

It is what it is-and that is a good, sturdy, functional, ugly, inexpensive and fun knife. Get one.

What everyone else said...scored higher than many other knives on the knife-test vids that cost a lot more, has the ability to be made into a spear, or lengthen handle, seems to take an edge very quickly, feels a bit like a small matchete in the hand length/weight wise. which is to say its very light and seems big.

Roundness of the handle is not the best feeling, and it seems a bit short. would like it to have an extra inch on the handle and lose an inch on the blade perhaps. I have been looking for some "nice" branch to insert and make the handle a little better length, and still up in the air as to either wrap athletic tape or perhaps grip tape, or coat the grip with textured paint...there are many options.

the sheath is again simple, and I feel it sucks as far as sheaths go. I would never put it on a belt, but carry it inside a pack. To wear, it needs a kydex or some other custom job in my opinion. The problem is the sheath is massive, way to large to carry and not look like a D-bag, but if mounted to a pack i feel it would be fine. (If I had a horizontal carry kydex sheath maybe I would love to carry it)

the knife is a great knife, its under rated I feel, its pure tool. 7'' of blade is just more than is needed for most knife uses, and for the vast amount of time I unsheath a knife, a smaller blade (for me usually a mora) is what i use...but if i have a pack on the Bushman is in it, as its very light, is ready for any "large knife" work and has the ability to take a beating.

Bottom line is I like the knife, just needs a better sheath.
