I was about to buy the Colossus, but realized that there may be no liners. What's providing the lateral strength? Prying power is in question.

Please way in.

The G10 is plenty strong, prying with a knife is a very dubious task anyways.

I have an Ultimate hunter that is linerless and its been fantastic at everything I throw at it. No worries about strength or blade play here.

It isn't a pry bar—it is a precision cutting machine!

Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and get something else to pry with.

The lateral strength comes from the handle being 6-inches long.

I'm used to fixed blades, & this is said to be a Strong folder. I called CS today & they,... set me straight.

I ordered one in DLC (black). I fell in love with the handle.

This has been brought up before, but my google-fu isn't strong enough to find one of those old threads. Instead, I'll just post a vid that was posted back then:

The outcome may not be the same in every situation, but what happened in this vid is what I expected to happen. I don't worry about my linerless G10 handled CS knives at all. I also happen to have a Colossus II on the way to me, so let me say good choice! :D:thumbup::cool:

Watch this video, Demko stood on the side of the full G-10 Lawman that has no liner. The blade will most likely break first.
In fact, steel liners may add more strength but will also cause permanent damage. If gone through the same thing the steel-lined handles will most likely be bent, unlike G10 which flexes back.

The blade will snap before the pivot or handle will fail.

If you want maximum strength, get a 4Max. It was what Crusader Forges, Extrema Ratios, Striders, and Medfords all dream about being when they grow up.

Feels pretty substantial (and comfortable). I'm loving this knife.
