I'm in.

I once quasi-befriended a fox while out in the pasture. I saw it spying on me and, as I walked toward it, I started whistling to make it clear that I was not trying to sneak up on it. The little fella never let me get closer than 25 yards, but he never really got spooked or tried to find cover; just kept walking and hopping onto logs until he felt comfortable and stopped to see what I was up to. I knew he was interested when he started to follow me after our paths deviated. We kept up a little game of freeze-tag for half a mile (one of us venturing close to the other and who periodically stoped to check in) before I eventually had to head back towards the house and he went on his way. Neat little encounter. Since then I've made a habit of whistling when I see foxes out and about, just in case.

I’ve lead a boring last year, my hip started bugging me last July. Went to the doctor and jumped through the hoops to get a MRI. Bone on bone so finally got into the schedule and had it replaced 9 weeks ago. The first two weeks after were a bitch but now no pain and back to usual, now just need to get back into shape after being a couch potato. The fun of getting older but what are you going to do? I’m in hopefully thanks

I'm following. Interesting huh? Well I recently found out my brother has prostate cancer and has to have surgery to remove it, this is interesting to me because there isn't any cancer in my family history but then they don't usually live much past 50 so how would we know? He is a decade older than me but now I'm worried about it for myself too. Getting old is such a bunch of crap, maybe that's why my dad decided to skip it .

I'm in.

In high school I was in Naval JROTC and me and a few others were fortunate enough to be able to go on a short cruise on an amphibious landing ship (LPD to those interested). A couple cool things that happened:

One, I got to shoot some hoops while on board. Nothing like jumping up when the ship was at the crest of a wave, and then landing further down than you thought you had to go when the ship reaches the bottom of a wave. I managed to roll my ankle on that day too on one of the tie downs for large equipment in the storage bay where the basketball hoop was set up.

Second, we got to see a live fire target practice at dusk/night. The sailors threw balloons overboard with a glow stick stuck in them, and then the ship took a large turn to put the targets out aways. They then let loose with the fore and aft .50 cal Browning M2's. Seeing the tracers bounce off the water at night is one of the coolest things I have ever seen!

Man I hope everything turns out well for your brother!

I’m in. With year’s of army, ems, fighting in Thailand, surviving in San Francisco .. the most interesting to me was almost having to call my daughter’s step dad to bail me out of jail last weekend. My daughter asked if I was really going to beat up a 12 year old and his friends for picking on her and her friends (she’s 8)

And, thanks for the fun generosity that brings all of us nuts together. good luck to all on here and, enjoy these little breaks from the craziness.
