Can someone please explain to me the difference between
the Cold Steel "El Hombre" & El Lobo vs the Vaquero Series???

Thanks

(yeah, I'm a noob....:D )

Welcome to Bladeforums! It won't take long before you know everything, just like the rest of us. :p

Cold Steel has two similar lines of basic folders, the Voyagers and the Vaqueros. Both lines have Zytel handles with no liners, and both are lockbacks.

The Voyagers come with clip points or tanto points, and are symmetrically hollow ground. (The Gunsites and Land Sea Rescue folders are Voyager variants.)

The Vaqueros are symmetrically flat ground and come in the Nogales clip point, an extreme recurved blade. (The Desperado is a fixed-blade Vaquero variant.)

These knives used to come in 4 lengths: 6" Vaquero Grande, 5" Vaquero, 4" El Hombre, and 3" El Lobo.

The 5" has been discontinued and the 4" renamed the Large Vaquero and the 3" renamed the Medium Vaquero. All are now fully serrated, although the 3" and 4" also used to have plain-edge versions.

Hey, thanks for that explanation....
A buddy of mine got me a knife for xmas, ever since then, I have been hooked.
Since xmas I have bought:

Spyderco Karambit
MOD CaraCara
Cold Steel: BlackTalon & Sable, Vaquero, Pro Lite
Microtech "Vector" (I would love to get the MT Hawk but I live in Cali ) ):
BM Gravitator & Resistor
CRKT Neck Knife

I don't know what it is, can't explain it, but can't stop buying knives now....

Oh, that's a either a psychological thing (like popcorn, you just can't have just one) or, as rumored, a virus that only effects a small portion of the population.
