Whats your take on the quality of the cold steel gurka and the HI kukris? The HI ones look great but the CS is so much more. Is the CS one massively superior to make that kind of price difference.

What CS kukri are you looking at? The SK5 models are about 160 on ebay, which is in the same range as a lot of HI kuks.

Alright but are they better or worse?

They're different. Factory tolerances vs. hand made. A couple models vs. a wide range of possible styles, lengths, thicknesses and weights. Different steels and different grinds. I have several HI and several CS. I prefer the HI. You might not, but I think there is more chance that a person would prefer the HI khukuri if they do a side-by-side comparison of the various options available from both makers.

A whole lotta style from slashing grass to taking care of that big log, HI has a lot to offer. Did i say custom as well?

You won't find many who will prefer the CS over the HI.

Generally HI is considered the top of the kukri heap.

So which HI do you guys think would be perfect for use in the woods?

That question is one of user preference, but the Ang Khola is H.I.'s #1 best seller for a reason.
There are different khukuri for different tasks, some are more tool than weapon and vice versa. Then you are faced with picking the best size and weight to suit your physical ability.
You're welcome to visit the H.I. manufacturers forum to ask the questions you'd like answered about khukuri.
