CS Hai Hocho question

I am in the market for a good utility fixed blade, and low and behold a flyer from Cold Steele shows up with their 2 for 1 sale.
The first one that caught my eye was the Hai Hocho, priced at $30.00 for two, which doesn't seem like a bad price at all,but since I have had bad luck with three other CS purchases, I would like to know if anyone has an opinion
on this knife.

I know $30.00 isn't alot, but if the knife isn't right, the money could go towards something better.

Thanks in advance

My advice is to check ebay or whereever that sales older knives to find an original design hai honcho. The serrations on the original knife were much more pronounced that those on the current model, and is one of my favorite small knives.

I don't care near as much for the current version.

I' ve used one of these many years back. Mostly as a companion near my kitchen cutlery. Its thin blade cut food stuff quite well. But it had limited uses due to its relative small size. And a lot of gunk built up easily in its checkered rubber handles. :barf: It could cut thru other fibrous material with little problem. But since the scallops on the edge were quite tiny, it was difficult to get a good edge back on it. Even with a Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker. Here would be a good argument for plain edge vs serrated. I' d say take a pass. And invest in a quality fix blade.
