anyone seen the female anti-perspirant commercial where the woman jumps to a rope ladder on a helicopter to escape "agents" only to see one sawing the ropes with what looks like a 5" vaquero?

Yeah, I saw that! I kinda half-watched it the first time and it wasn't till it was already off that my brain said "Hey, that was a Vaquero..". Nice choice of knives. Although, based on the CS claims, I don't think he needed to saw at the rope, a single mighty swing should have been enough to cut it... :D

Ya, he must've dulled that thing down a lot! otherwise she would've been gone on the first stroke. Those Vaqs go through rope very quick.

Good eye too, took me three times of kinda watching to notice it.

Was that a Vaq?
I saw that comercial a few times and swore it was a desperado.
Crap, now I have to record this thing to find out...

Spyderco on CSI: my mom looked at it and stared at me... (she cut her self on my Calypso Jr in case ya guys dunno)

I didn't see that, or missed the knife, or don't remember in my old young age. However, I did see a Leatherman on X-Files last night, where Scully did a tracheotomy (sp?) with it. And some other knife that Mulder carried but I couldn't see what it was.

I just got back from Bourne Supremcy (which I did enjoy; although the people I was with tended to think it wasn't as good as the first, mostly due to downgrading to PG-13 issues) and I'm pretty sure one of the guys in the begining of the movie was using a Microtech UDT. Although, I would love a confirmation or correction of what knife was really used.

A rope under tension like having her weight on it is a different story than free hanging rope. You'd still have to saw a bit to get it to cut. Still, pretty cool to see.

And I did notice the CSI Spydie too. It was about cops after all, and many of those guys do seem to carry Spydies. Firemen and EMT's seem to too.

here is some more for ya. just watched the movie "screamers" with peter weller. he uses what looks like a spyderco ss delica to pop a microchip out of a robot. another guy uses a buck buckmaster as a weapon a couple times.
for the video gamers out there check out ps2 game "extermination" where you use a strider tiger as a backup to your gun.
