Well I dont know which to get. I want a CS Kobun in Carbon V. It seems like it would be hard to carry though cause its big. It sounds big from the measurments anyway. The CRKT seems to be smaller. It is heavier though. What should I go with here?

For the money, the CRKT Companion is very tough to beat. Bob Kasper put some thought into this design. It was meant to be easily carried, either on the belt or IWB. The CRKT sheat isn't the beat, but it is functional. There are several sheath makers who can set you up with a good sheath for it. I would offer my services for the sheath, but don't feel that my skills are quite there to offer you a quality sheath.

You will also find that while it might be heavier than the CS, it isn't a significant difference. I have owned and carried both and would opt for the CRKT.

i might wait for the Kershaw Vertigo, it costs about the same, and you may prefer the design.

It has better blade steel than the other two mentioned (AUS8a Blade). There is nothing wrong with the carbon V, but for the mission of these knives stainless might be a plus.

There is nothing really wrong with the CRKT, but the Kobun isnt a great knife, i wouldnt consider it.

I'll echo the previous sentiments about the Companion. Not sure it can be topped at that price level.

I agree too about the Companion, it is a GREAT knife for for the $$$! Paul
