Hi,

I want to use this tool for all sort of tasks in wild.
Biggest priority are chopping, batoning and bushcrafting.

Since the knife has little of no edge before hand, how does convex edge for the "meated" portion and scandi edge for the narrowest portion near the handle sound?

I am guessing Convex edge is best for chopping and battoning and scandi is best for bushcrafting? From my knowledge, they are also relatively easy to sharpen.

How does that sound and/or are there better options i should consider?

You've got it covered. They're pretty good choppers even though they are lightweight. Convex the belly portion and it will be that much better. I change angles on mine, use different grits, files. For the recurve near the handle I like to use a chainsaw file then finish with a ceramic rod.
Have fun!
