Its been dry for an hour and already some rusting is starting!

Mind if I ask what you're using/how you are doing it?

Are you going to want it forced right to the edge or just let sharpening take care of it when you are done?

I used apple cider vinegar. Wrapped the head in strips of cloth and put in a container with a little vinegar in the bottom. I might let it rust a little and do it again just to see what happens.
