Here is what $28 buys in a large, built like a tank, beater knife. Blade is sharp, it left a couple of bald patches on my arm You need two hands to open and close it. Releasing the lock is by pulling on the cord at the rear of the knife, it requires a pretty good tug. Not a high level of finish, but seems well put together.

can you tell me if there is any vertical or horizontal blade play? thanks

Vertical, no, lateral, a tiny bit if I put enough pressure back and forth. The Manix has ~ the same amount with the same amount of pressure. The PB has some type of washer on each side between the blade and frame, looks like bronze.
