Have seen reports on the 4", but none on the 3".
If you have one:
Is the hollow grind nice and thin at the edge? ......a slicer!
Is the handle comfortable? .............................i don't have large hands!
Can I assume the lock disengagement is as smooth as past Cold Steel knives?

Thanks!

Blade is a good compromise between slice and stout. Spine thickness is 1/8", roughly 3/4 concave grind. Secondary bevel, maybe 30 degrees (?)

Handles are comfortable, but very grippy. You may get a hot spot on your ring finger during heavy cutting, as the edges are sharp, in a plastic kind of way. A couple passes with 220 grit might help this.

Lock is smooth, but very stiff. If you're familiar with Cold Steel, you'll know what to expect.

I had some blade wobble on mine. Have you found a way to fix this?

Thank you.
Wobble side to side?.....................Tighten Pivot screw.
Up and down?.............................. I don't think there is a way to fix this. Although, a little up and down on a lockback is usually no problem, it won't come unlocked.(test by pushing on the back of blade, safely)

I tightened the pivot screw right down to the bottom! Still had side wobble, while the Mini-Recon was closed. Open lockup was solid, though.

So I bought some stainless steel washers, and installed one on the side. Now the blade is off-center, and this will eventually bother me. but for now, I'm pretty happy with it.

Hummmmm, Are the factory washers "balanced"? (That is, the same amount on both sides of blade.)Sometimes they forget to put washers on one side??:grumpy:
OR the pivot pin barrel may be too long,or they countersunk the G10 too deep, reduce the length of the barrel. You should not have to put up with an off centered blade or a wobble.

Let me know.

Yeah, the washers are the same on both sides.

I filed down the female side of the pivot bolt.

The G-10 is countersunk, but I can't tell if it's too deep: my only Recon.

Don't worry, I'm not going to put up with it! I'm in the process of grinding down one of the washers. I got 36 of 'em for two dollars. If I screw it up, I'll try again.

I don't want to grind the pivot if I don't have to. Grinding the threads can cause problems, and if I got too short, I'm done.

and I'll keep you up to date.

Wait, one more thing!
Check the distance the Pivot screw goes into the pivot barrel.(do this with pin out of knife) Sometimes the threads are not cut very deeply into the barrel, thus you cannot tighten enough, even if it feels tight. Had this very problem before.
Solution:
Grind down length of pivot pin screw. You will then, not need an extra washer.
