CS Recon 1 vs Axis Lock

Come on, someone must have both knives, or at least first-hand experience of them. :cool:
I'm very interested in knowing if the CS lock can be trusted.
 
I haven't tried the CS, but I've tried the Axis and that's a very nice lock :)
 
I have some Benchmade Axis locks. I don't have any Cold Steel ultralocks, so all I've done is handle them and play with them a bit. They do not feel like high quality knives, an opinion that I've seen expressed here by other people a number of times. However, a cursory examination obvioiusly doesn't give you a really fair picture. But, with no one else piping up on this, I thought I'd give my off-the-cuff impressions.

The lock itself is very similar to the axis lock, so I'd imagine it's sound, at least in principle. I remember hearing info from insiders that Benchmade might have sued or threatened to sue Cold Steel over it, and if so, they might have settled and have some kind of licensing agreement.
