Are the eye openings in all CS Hawks the same. I ordered a 22 inch cold steel replacement handle for my rifleman's hawk and it does not slide on. The distributer told me it best fits the Norse? hawk. I thought a 22 inch haft will fit all the CS hawks. Even the trail hawks come with them now?

The latest Trailhawk I bought was a bit rougher than the older ones of even one or two years ago. It took a lot more work to bring up to par in my opinion.

If you have ever rehandled an axe you will know that it takes
some modding to get it to work and fit. Nothing is perfect,
and not one of their handles or heads our going to be the same.

Not thinking, read trail boss and had my mind on axes.
Yes, I thought they were all the same, as well.
If you can stick it on a lathe or just do some sanding,
you should be able to get it on.
Like I said in my mistake, I won't erase it some
might find it helpful, nothing is perfect,
especially when it comes to CS quality control.

I bought a rifleman's hawk a couple years ago and got the longer handle and had zero problems. It fit perfectly. You do realize that the head goes on from the bottom of the handle, right? So that as you swing it, it tries to slide out onto the thicker part of the handle.

Try flipping it around. The eye and haft have a slight tear drop shape to them, that may be hard to notice. I had trouble when I first mounted a replacement because I thought they were oval in cross section.
