looking for any info on the CS Safekeeper I, i would like to purchase one ?? anyone got one for sale ??? how do they carry and cut ??

I had (gave away) a safe keeper III which is the small one with a single edge design. It was a cool knife the thing was razor sharp. A friend of mine had a the full size one that was older called the Urban Skinner (guess the got all politically correct and re-named them safe keepers) Which is like the model your asking about. It to was rasor sharp, his came in a leather sheath and mine came in Concealex (plastic) sheath. Mine became loose after a little use but I headed it up and remolded it to the knife and it held fine. They are nice but kind useless for anything less than defense.

Just my two cents

I purchased one about a year ago. There had been a string of armed robberies on campus (if you can call having a box cutter armed) and I bought it for night carry. It is very strong. The edges are nearly 1/8 thick right before the actual cutting edge grind starts. I'm currently in the process of thinning the edges, but because they are so thick, its taking some time. I was thinking of getting rid of it. Email me. I carried it a couple of times, but never had need to use it. I read someones signature here that said he/she liked finding peaceful uses for tactical looking knives. That applies here. It makes a dandy apple knife.

I felt the sheath was pretty comfy. The back is wide and flat. I carried it inside my waist band, right above my wallet. The sheath has a good grip on the knife. Its Kydex I think. The clip has a little hook on the end that needs to be hooked around a belt to prevent the whole thing from coming out instead of just the knife.

I own a Safe Keeper 2 ( in my experience concerning handling and concealment the better choice compared with the Safe Keeper 1 model) and this a absolute recommendable, currently the best factory-made push dagger!
The Safe Keeper is highly efficient for self-defense. The T-handle guarantees a safe grip and enables a high-potential push power. The relatively broad blade is ideal for deep slashing. Furthermore the Safe Keeper 2 has the advantage of a fixed blade (no lock problems, low weight and more stability) and is approximately compact as a folder. Both edges of my Safe Keeper were razor sharp and the Concealex sheath is well suited for IWB and belt carry.
My sole complaint relates to the handle material, I wish CS would use a more sturdy material than Kraton.

I've only used this for defense on three occasions. Thankfully, in all three instances, the SIGHT of me holding my safe keeper II was enough to scare the bee jebbies out of my assailants. They practialy pissed their pants and ran away even though they had a formidable knife.

I've got an Urban Skinner, the forerunner of the Safekeeper . I would be happy to discuss making it YOUR urban skinner. Drop me a line.

It is my understanding that the safekeeper I, w/ 5" blade has been discontinued. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this?

Dragon2,
I'm not sure if the SKI has been discontinued or not but I do know that it has not been on either of CS's websites or in the Special Projects catalogue for some time now.
