CS Sale at Midway

The drop forged Bowie is a steal at $42, as well. I'll add, if anyone out there doesn't have a CS blowgun, that's a must have, especially at $25. It is NOT a toy, but it IS a blast! ;) 😁
I almost bought one of the Drop Forged Bowies, but I already have a Marauder, a Frontier Bowie, a Bark River Bravo III, a Condor Makara, and 4 of Tops’ huge blades. I think I’m good, but I really want to get a Trailmaster still…the new one in 52100 is very tempting. I’m thinking of selling of the Bark River and Tops stuff because they’re so expensive that I am hard pressed to actually use them.

I’ve been using their 4’ professional blowgun for years…Iove the thing, especially with the broadheads…and if you put a rubber foot on it, it makes a great walking stick as well.

I just nabbed an American Hunting Spear with my AD-10 order. I’ve never played with a spear, and I have plenty of shovel handles to try with it. I get why some people make fun of CS’ stuff, but I’m very happy that they make all kinds of “toys” for cheap enough for anyone to “play” with.

Ya I have been trying to find a used AD10 to beat up and for the price I couldn't pass up a brand new one.

It's a tanto which wouldn't have been my first choice, but very glad I went with it. Great blade.
Cool…yeah, I felt exactly the same way…didn’t really want the tanto, but it was too good of a deal.

I’ve been on the fence for years about the AD-10 since I own a bunch of their other heavy duty folders.

I grabbed one of those ad10 tantos and the drop forged bowies. couldn't not with that price point. I have the older version bowie in gold tone with shorter blade and don't love that angle, but it has its uses......

I bought the AD10 last time that they had them for the dirt cheap price. I paid a lot more for the clip point when they were fairly new and I loved it for that price. This price is just crazy and it is also a great knife!

After seeing this sale, I just got my AD10 out of the knife drawer and thought about getting a back up. Then I got out my Ultimate Hunter from my edc rotation and compared the two.

I ve always liked the UH better. Same size blade, good build strength and much lighter. There s a reason the UH is in my carry rotation and the AD10 stays in my collection drawer. The AD10 is a well built knife, as close to indestructible as any folder I ve ever had. But it is a brick compared to the UH. The UH is as strong a folder as I ll ever need.

I was tempted by the great sale price, but not today.

I had never really had any particular practical interest in the AD10, but at the current price, I had to experience the Tri-Ad for myself. And the tanto was a nice alternative. At worst, it'll ride along in my 4Runner's console safe.

An outfit on the Great South American River site was, maybe still is, selling Ultimate Hunters for $86. I was sorely tempted at that price.

So I’ve been carrying the AD-10 for the past week.
I like it, I do…it’s a beast, as well as a great slicer…but I prefer the Recon 1 for most of my needs. I like the ergos of the AD a lot, but the added girth in pocket, coupled with the shorter blade, just solidify in my mind how well designed the Recon is for a daily heavy use knife.

I think I’ll keep the AD-10 in my tractor toolbox (don’t worry - it’s a climate controlled, enclosed cab). I can see where the added blade stock thickness might be beneficial around the farm. It feels like something that I could seriously abuse without it ever getting damaged.

id grab one of those, but I also wouldn't mind a titanium recon 1.....
Yeah, I wish the Magnacut Recon 1 was offered with titanium scales. I’ve looked for titanium or aluminum aftermarket scales, and I’ve never found anything.

The Code 4 is a nice knife though. I would like to see one of them made with an atlas lock.
