CS San Mai 3 Masterhunter plus

I was thinkinh of getting a cold steel master hunter plus, but they discontinued it in Carbon V. So, I was wondering if anyone had experience with the San Mai 3 version. Also, is the steel any good? Better or worse than CarbonV? Any websites where i can get i cheap? I was thinking Savsonswords and knives.com or budk.com.
