Hi. Is there any real difference between these two? CS site suggests .5" longer blade for Slock Master and a 1.2oz weight difference. Most retail sites suggest no difference. Thank you.

No difference that I can see besides the blade length, weight, and color.. The description of the Slock Master on the CS website actually says that Tim Wells just wanted to do his own custom version of the Scalper.

So just a ½ incg longer blade and a red handle, that's about it..

Didn't see the Cold Steel manufacturer forum - is there a way to move or delete my post here?

Can use the Report button at the bottom left of the post and ask a Mod to move it

Hi Corton. Yes, CS site suggests there is a real difference between the 2 knives but the specs are suspect. Several retail sites I visited suggest they are the same knife with a different color handle. The weight difference is the giveaway - a 1.2oz difference for only a 1/2" more blade doesn't make sense for a blade with this grind and only 3.5mm thick at the spine.
Thought I would get a quick answer on this forum as this is a very interesting lightweight field knife. If one isn't looking for something that can also chop / hack, this piece seems to offer outrageous amounts of utility for weekend campouts or significant security on a hike. I'm definitely going to pick up one of these models but I want to know about any differences first.

Don't know if this helps, both the BladeHQ and Knifecenter websites indicate they're identical except for handle color and blade markings. Given the mess CS has become post-buyout, I'd sooner trust the retailers.

I think you're right Tafkaag, either a mistake at the CS site or an effort to promote the new version.
