CS Scimitar VG1 vs AUS8

Hi,

I see in the CS Fall '07 Catalog the Scimitar is now available in VG1 as opposed to it's predecessor in AUS8. I've been holding back on buying one because of the AUS8. I've never used anything in VG1 so can someone please tell me how much better (or not) is VG1 compared to AUS8 with regards to edge retention/stability and wear?

I have had mixed experiences with VG-1.

My Voyagers and Vaquero (both VG-1) hold an edge really well. My Scimitar folder in the same steel does not seem to hold an edge for nearly as long.

My experience with Cold Steel's AUS 8-A has been that it does not hold an edge as well as my Voyagers in VG-1 but it is much easier to re-sharpen when it comes time to do so.
